Osceola County School Board and OCEA Reach Tentative Approval On Two-Year Agreement In Salaries and Benefits For Teachers and Support Personnel

The Osceola County School Board and Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace recognize Osceola teachers and educational support professionals for their time and talents in inspiring students each and every day. OCEA has tentatively approved the School Board’s two-year agreement in salaries and benefits for instructional and professional support staff employees, which include the following highlights:





Instructional Personnel:

·         Average of 2.5% salary increase per instructional employee across the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years.

·         Retention supplement (non-recurring) of $200 for each instructional employee who was employed with the district during the 2015-2016 school year and who returned to work for the 2016-2017 school year.

·         No increase in employee insurance premiums and continued employer contribution per employee to the Center for Employee Health.
 

Professional Support Employees:

·         Average of 2.5% salary increase per professional support staff employee across the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years.

·         Retention supplement (non-recurring) of $150 for each professional support staff employee who was employed with the district during the 2015-2016 school year and who returned to work for the 2016-2017 school year.

·         No increase in employee insurance premiums and continued employer contribution per employee to the Center for Employee Health.

OCEA ratification will take place on May 10, and the agreement will be brought to the School Board for approval at the meeting on May 16.  If approved, all employees will receive their 2016-2017 salary increase, including retroactive pay and the retention supplement, in their May 31 paycheck.  When employees return to work for next school year, the salary increases for 2017-2018 will be in place.
