Kissimmee Middle Students Win National and Regional Awards In 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition

Scholastic Awards LogoOut of over 330,000 works submitted from across the nation, 17 students from Kissimmee Middle School earned 30 national and regional awards at the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Art and writing were submitted for adjudication at the regional level in the Awards’ 29 categories, which included poetry, photography, sculpture, humor, editorial cartoons, video game design, and more. Seventh grade student Alondra Rodriguez received a National Silver Medal for her Photography submission entitled Jennifer, which is extremely impressive as national medalists represent less than one percent of submissions to the 2017 Scholastic Awards.
