Dear Ventura Families,
At Ventura Elementary, we closely monitor student performance data to guide our work and ensure continuous growth for every learner. Our most recent progress monitoring results show encouraging gains across multiple areas. From PM1 to PM2, 3rd Grade ELA increased from 21% to 38%, and ELA across grades 3–5 grew from 22% to 36%. In math, we saw especially strong growth, with Math grades 3–5 rising from 6% to 26%, and projections indicating we are on track to exceed our growth goals. While we celebrate these gains, the data also helps us identify areas where continued focus is needed to ensure all students meet or exceed grade-level expectations.
To support this growth, we are implementing several intentional actions across our campus. Teachers hold regular student–teacher data chats, helping students understand their progress, set goals, and take ownership of their learning. During intervention time, students receive targeted instruction and practice on specific skills they are still developing. Our teachers regularly analyze assessment results to plan purposeful reteaching of standards that have not yet been mastered. In addition, we have incorporated Progress Learning into daily classroom instruction and nightly homework to reinforce standards, provide immediate feedback, and extend learning beyond the school day.
We need your support with encouraging your child to read at least 20 minutes every night and practice skills on Progress Learning (which can be accessed through Classlink).
